Taiwan President Ma congratulated China’s Liu xiaobo on winning the Nobel Peace Prize


Taiwan President Ma Yingjiu congratulated China’s Liu xiaobo on winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
"Mainland China’s economic development has impressed the world, if it can make progress and breakthroughs in human rights this would be in line with the goal of a peaceful rise, and win recognition from Taiwanese people and the international community," Ma said in a statement posted on the presidential website today.
"Not only is it a great personal honor for Liu Xiaobo, in terms of mainland China’s human rights development, it’s of historic importance to the global Chinese community," the statement said.
